Definition of thermal head
- thermal head

1. In a thermal fax machine, the device which applies heat to the recording paper or ribbon, causing an image
to appear. In most cases, this is a metal bar which paper passes over. In some cases, the paper is stationary
and the thermal head moves back and forth across it, similar to a computer or typewriter head.
