Glossary pressure fusing
Definition of pressure fusing
- pressure fusing
-
1. A fusing system that uses pressure only (without any heat). In pressure fusing, there are two steel fuser rollers that are pressed together with enormous force. The paper with toned image passes through them and the image is bonded to the paper by pressure (forced into the grain of the paper). The result is a copy with a shiny look to it. This process has not been used on any machines since the early 1990s.
