1.  Pertains to the positioning of an original (ex. 8 1/2 x 11) on the platen so that its longer side (ex. 11" of an 8 1/2 x 11 document) is the leading edge. Note that digital copiers can often rotate image. Image orientation and paper feed are not necessarily the same.
