Definition of mixed-size detection

mixed-size detection
1.  Document feeder function that enables the copier to distinguish between different sized originals that have been mixed in the feed tray; i.e. built-in sensors will read the 8½x11 and 8½x14 originals in the stack as letter-size and legal-size, respectively.
