Definition of laser printer

laser printer
1.  A printer type that uses a laser beam to apply an electrical charge to a photosensitive drum. When the paper passes over the drum, the charge is transferred as a pattern. The toner is then attracted to the charged pattern on the paper and fused to it with heat.
