Definition of echo
- echo

1. Signals that are repeated due to satellite transmission. Usually repeated .3-8 seconds later. In fax transmission, this causes the sending fax to drop out. It is usually caused by the CED tone. Thus, the DED tone can be eliminated to allow successful intl. transmission. In some instances, the CED tone is delayed by approximately one half second for the same reason.
