Definition of CML

CML
1.  An acronym for connect modem to line relay. Operated by the main circuit board. This is what switches the sending machine from the phone mode to the fax mode. It is a special type of relay as a conventional relay would cause a DCN (disconnect) signal as it moved from one contact to another.
