On certain HP printers, excessive noise or vibration can be eliminated by performing one quick step during toner installation.

The Issue

After installing any of the new cartridges mentioned above, you may notice a vibration or excessive noise coming from your printer.

The Cause

A recent change in design by the manufacturer may cause a misalignment in the toner cartridge drive gear.

The Resolution

In the event that your printer is experiencing these symptoms, remove the toner cartridge from the printer and rotate the gear on the rear side by 1/4 turn (90 degrees) counterclockwise.
