Introduction

The fuser reset menu on HP CP3525dn and similar models allows the CE484A fuser unit replacement counter to be reset. The RESETS menu allows you to reset various functions of your HP Color LaserJet CP3525, including the full factory reset of your HP CP3525dn, disabling and enabling various sleep modes, and updating your machine after new supplies have been installed.

Normally, this counter is reset when the fuser unit is replaced. Precision Roller offers the CE484A fuser unit (PR# E6444) if your fuser life counter says it's time to replace your fuser.

In this instruction, we will be resetting the fuser life counter for your HP CP3525.

Resetting the Fuser Life Counter on HP Color Laserjet CP3525

1. On your Color Laserjet CP3525’s control panel, press the Menu button.
   
2. Press the down arrow button until CONFIGURE DEVICE is highlighted. Press the OK button to enter your HP’s configuration menu.
   
3. Press your printer’s down arrow button until RESETS is selected. Press the OK button.  This menu allows you to reset various maintenance counters and settings on your HP CP3525. (See cautions and notes in More Info below.)
   
4. Press the down arrow button until RESET SUPPLIES is highlighted. Press OK.
   
5. NEW FUSER KIT should appear on the CP3525’s display. The default value for this item is NO.  Use the down arrow to change the value from NO to YES.  Select OK to reset your HP CE484A fuser.
   
6. Your Laserjet CP3525 should now reset the CE484A fuser life counter and confirm success.  If the following message appears on the display, you have reset your fuser kit counter successfully.

The RESETS Menu on the HP Color Laserjet CP3525dn printer consists of 4 different menu items. Below is a brief description of each menu item and its purpose:

• RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS: This menu item clears the page buffer, removes all perishable personality data, resets the printing and networking environment, and returns all default settings to factory default. Use caution when navigating through the reset menu due to the fact that this setting could make your HP Color LaserJet CP3525 unusable depending on how your printer and computer are configured.
• CALIBRATION RESET: This resets calibration values on the formatter.
• RESET SUPPLIES: This menu item allows access to the NEW FUSER UNIT counter reset discussed in this instruction.
• SLEEP MODE: This is a power-saving feature designed to conserve power on your HP Color LaserJet CM3530 or CP3525 and related models.
