About the Riso RZ1090
Riso RZ1090 Details:
The RISO RZ1090 is a digital duplicator that uses liquid ink and digitally imaged master plates to create images. It's the world's fastest digital duplicator and is energy efficient, using 90% less electricity than most high-speed electrophotographic printers.
The RZ1090 uses a process similar to screen printing, where a thermal plate is used to create a master of the original image. The plate's heat spots burn voids on a rice-based paper sheet, which correspond to the image areas. The RZ1090 prints one color at a time from a master plate for each layer.
The RZ1090 can accept paper with weights from 20lb bond (75 gsm) to 80lb cover (218 gsm). However, because of the nature of Riso ink, it can only work with absorbent, non-coated paper.
The RZ1090 was invented, manufactured, and distributed by the Japanese corporation Riso Kagaku Corporation.
